Recreational Gymnastics: Tumbling & Trampoline Classes
Boys and Girls
Ages 3 to 17

Our Recreation Program introduces the fundamentals of tumbling and trampoline, emphasizing body control, balance, strength, and flexibility. Athletes of all ages, body types, and abilities can benefit, while developing skills that enhance performance across all gymnastics disciplines. Students will progress through a variety of training stations, mastering techniques such as:
• Cartwheels, handstands, round-offs
• Back and front walkovers
• Back handsprings, front handsprings
• Aerials, flips, baranis, twisting, and more
Students will also learn foundational safety practices, equipment use and jumping techniques. Our highly qualified coaches focus on individualized skill development, ensuring correct technique and form, while helping each athlete achieve their personal goals. Whether for cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, or recreation, this program is perfect for your child!
Recreational Classes
Tuition: Yearly $60 membership fee per family. Refer to session pricing chart.
Commitment: Session-based (7–12-week sessions pre-set by GSTA).
Time Commitment: 40–55 minutes, once or twice per week (optional).
Competition availability: Recreational Gym Show
Description: These classes are for boys and girls, walking age to 17 years. A weekly 55-minute class is divided by age and focuses on the basics of gymnastics, tumbling, and trampoline. Athletes progress at their own pace, continuously improving fundamental skills while advancing to more challenging techniques.
Sample Class Rotation:
• 5-minute warm-up
• 10-minute trampoline
• 20-minute floor
• 20-minute weekly rotation (bars, vault, beam)
For tumbling classes, focus is primarily on the floor with some trampoline use.
Make Ups/Refunds: Two make-ups per session (7–12 weeks) per child. No refunds. Credits are issued with a doctor’s note.
Skill Requirement: Beginner level, no prior skills required.
Advanced Classes
Tuition: Yearly $60 membership fee per family. Refer to session pricing chart.
Commitment: Session-based (7–12-week sessions pre-set by GSTA).
Time Commitment: 85 minutes, once or twice per week (optional).
Competition availability: Recreational Gym Show.
Description: Designed for athletes who have progressed within GSTA programs, this class provides additional gym time to refine and master more advanced skills. Focus includes USA Gymnastics routines on trampoline, floor, and double-mini trampoline.
Sample Class Rotation:
• 5/15-minute warm-up (run/jump rope)
• 20/30-minute trampoline
• 20-minute floor
• 20-minute weekly rotation tumble track/Double mini
Make Ups/Refunds: Two make-ups per session (7–12 weeks) per child. No refunds. Credits are issued with a doctor’s note.
Skill Requirement:
- Floor: Front and back handsprings.
- Trampoline: Front flip/back flip
Class Descriptions by Age and Focus
Boys and Girls 3-4 years old
These classes emphasize basic skills like supporting body weight, forward/backward rolls, handstands, and cartwheels. Students also develop jumping skills on trampolines, balance beam walking, and bar holds
Boys and Girls 5-7 years old
Building on foundational gymnastics, students’ progress to handstands, cartwheels, roundoffs, bridges, backbends, and walkovers. Skills on trampolines, bars, and balance beams continue to develop.
Girls 6 + classes
Covers basic skills through advanced techniques, focusing on roundoffs, back/front walkovers, back handsprings, and flips.
Boys 6-10
This class emphasizes strength-building and tumbling skills, incorporating trampoline, tumble track, double-mini, bars, and vault.
85 min advance
For gymnasts excelling in recreational classes and eager to further advance their skills. Includes flips, twists, and advanced techniques on trampoline, as well as aerials, back handsprings, and flips in tumbling.
